About Us
Bartel Grassland Restoration
This collaborative effort seeks to restore and maintain the native flora and fauna of Bartel Grassland of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County.
By increasing the diversity of the native flora, we will restore Bartel to a high quality prairie. We seek high quality habitat that will maintain a rich grassland bird community and increase the diversity of other fauna.
We seek to achieve these goals in collaboration among volunteers, staff, and contractors, working together to educate and involve the community in the restoration and monitoring of a thriving prairie ecosystem.
Location:
Bartel parking lot located at the
intersection of Flossmoor Rd and Central Avenue.
